It is the middle of September, and that means the official beginning of fall is quickly approaching! This year, 2018, fall officially starts on September 22. Now don’t panic because Fall is so close, or because you don’t have any idea how you are going to decorate this year and participate in the festivities. Below are a few different ideas for crafts and décor that are cost efficient and cute all at the same time!
Dollar Tree Crafts:
You will need to get some craft pumpkins, and the cheapest place to get those is the Dollar Store. You can get a good sized orange pumpkin for only ONE dollar! If you need paint brushes or paint sponges, make sure you go ahead and get those at the dollar store too considering they are too only $1. A tip is to get a wood skewer to stick in the pumpkin while you paint so you don’t make a mess and then stick the skewer into a piece of Styrofoam to let it dry.
Jar or paper cup
Faux leaves or embellishments, if you want
Glue gun/glue sticks
Copper Pumpkins Centerpiece
This is the perfect craft when you are needing a cheap and easy centerpiece for any table in the house.
Dollar Store plastic pumpkin pails
Faux or fresh flowers
First you need to remove the handles from the pails, and then spray paint 2 light coats of which ever spray paint you would like. Then trim the flower stems to a length where they stand just taller than the pumpkin. After that, add some rice to the pumpkins to weigh it down. Place 3-4 stems of your cut flowers inside of the pumpkin. If you don’t want the jack-o-lantern face showing, turn the faces on the pumpkins toward each other so it can’t be seen.
Leaf Pillow Cover
If you have a pillow that seems kind of bland, or it needs something to make it pop, this may be the thing to help!
Felt fall leaf decoration/fall decoration
To complete this craft, you would first put a piece of cardboard in the pillowcase to prevent from gluing the 2 sides of the pillow case together. Then you would simply add glue to your decoration, starting out on the edges and then filling in the larger areas. Place the decoration on the pillow case and firmly press. Wait a few hours depending on the type of glue you use, which can vary from 2 hours to 24 hours. After the glue is dry, you can add the pillow in the pillow case and you now have yourself a decorative pillow!
Fall Welcome Door Mat
Door mats can get very expensive, especially when you are trying to find a good quality one that says exactly what you want it too. Finding a doormat to your liking has always been an issue amongst many. Therefore, this craft may be perfect for you considering you are creating your own doormat exactly how you like!
If you have a Circuit Explore or Silhouette cutting machine, this will be easy as pie for you. All you have to do is download the SVG file and size the image depending on the size of your doormat. You will print out the image, and then arrange the image on the doormat how you like it and use the painters tape to secure it. Then you will use the paint to paint the inside of the image. Give the paint some time to dry, and then peel off the vinyl stencil and painters tape to get your finished project.
Have a festive fall season this year with all of your crafts and save money too!
